Problem Description

In COMSOL 4.0, the message "Evaluation of particle tracing data failed" appears when I use the particle tracing feature.

Solution

This is a problem in COMSOL 4.0 when using massless particles. It has been fixed in a 4.0 software update. To solve the problem, please install the Hotfix.
