Dear all

I have tried to calculate the H-field generate by the coil : (H*length = J*length*width). That is in the range of 0.5 A/m. (10 A/m2*0.05m)

However when I measured the H-field at the iron core it is somewhere between 0.009 A/m.

Can you explain this difference?

Dear Yang,

it seems your calculation is based on or at least equates the formula for the magnetic field in an infinite long coil H=I/L.
But this is not modeled here. Here we have two infinite long wires in z-direction (perpendicular to the screen). Each is surrounded by a yoke. Try to switch off the current in one wire. The field around the wire follows ampere's law. For example integrate H*dr along closed path around the wire in the yoke and the air gap.

Best regards,
Jochen Heinrich
